    The Festival of Ideas returns to Cambridge on the 17th October, this year's theme is 'movement'. An exciting series of exhibitions, talks, debates, performances and hands-on experiences will cover topics related to movement. The theme will be explored from every imaginable angle so there should be something for everyone. The European migrant crisis is at the centre of the majority of the talks and exhibitions so if you have an interest in this then definitely take a look. If you're not a fan of sitting through lengthy lectures then there are films and exhibitions exploring different the topics, so no excuses! This is such as fantastic cambfestopportunity right on our door step -  so go along to something you want to know more about or something brand new!

  • Cambridge University Library Exhibitions

    Cambridge University Library is 600 years old this year and is running a series of special exhibitions. The exhibitions include Newton's Papers, Sassoon's Journal, Darwin's manuscripts and a collection of incredible, ancient writings in the Lines of Thought Exhibition. Works in this exhibition include Beowulf written in Old English, Shakespeare's First Folio, fragments of an Abbasid Qu'ran from the 3rd century and many more amzing pieces. The Library is running a whole series of events to mark the 600th anniversary, including workshops and tours of the exhibitions. They are also offering a free app for download.     For those wanting to apply to Cambridge University in October to attend in October 2017 or just look around the inside of the colleges, booking for the open days has begun. This will be a very busy event so booking is required for the majority of events in order to ensure that you get to see what you want. there will be many events going on throughout the city during this time, including lectures and experiments, with under-graduate and post-graduate students and fellows all giving up their time to offer their views on the college and answer any questions which you may have.
