Hockey Team News

Our Senior hockey team has got off to a great start this half term, showing really great potential at the County tournament, winning some games and always putting up a good fight in those we've lost. hockey
The season began with a fantastic win over St Mary's, with 2-0 as the final score, with goals scored by Henriette and Trinity from U6. Then came a very difficult match against King's Ely - we played really well but were outdone by a few very skillful players. Our defenders in that game deserve a special mention - they saved us from a double-figure loss I think!

The County tournament on the 28th September was great fun and we played some brilliant hockey. We lost 3-0 against the Perse, but were really proud with how we played and of the relatively small goal difference compared to some of their other victories! We drew 0-0 against Long Road and Kimbolton and lost 1-0 against Ely - we gave them a much better fight than the game the Saturday before. Overall we finished third in our pool so narrowly missed out on progressing to the finals.

Unfortunately we weren't able to keep our next match against Kimbolton to a draw and lost 5-0, but we showed some really promising periods of play. Again our defence and goalkeeper deserve a mention for this game, especially their short corner defending.

Last Thursday we won 1-0 against Saffron Walden County High, with the fantastic goal coming from superstar Henriette. Everyone played so well in this game, our midfield and attack began to look really threatening and so definitely deserved the goal and the win.

We have a few more games after half term so look out for more news!
