IAPS Girls Cricket

Published on 15/06/17

In June 2017 Dame Bradbury’s travelled to Latham Road to participate in the regional IAPS U11 Girls cricket tournament. There were two tiers to the competition with an A team and a B team group.

The B team played some excellent cricket but lost two of their matches and tied one. This left the team bottom of their group but it was a fantastic experience for the girls, six of whom will be available to play in the competition next year.

The A team got off to a bad start losing to St Faith’s in their opening game but a much improved second performance against Wellingborough resulted in a 16 run victory. The final group game was against SPF Junior School. The game was close throughout with SPF restricting Dame B’s to a below par score. The team bowled with great discipline to try to defend their total but a good third pairing from the Junior school saw them to victory.

Dame B’s finished in overall 3rd place with our friends from the Junior School being crowned IAPS champions.
