Year 10 train in preparation for The Duke of Edinburgh's Award

Published on 02/10/20

The last two weekends saw 90 students in Year 10 take part in training for their Bronze DofE programme at our Dame Bradbury's site in Saffron Walden.

With the lockdown last term, the usual summer expedition program was postponed and so it is great to see them back out again in their smaller groups getting things started again. With not being able to camp overnight, the students had a long day of sessions including navigation, first aid and kit, leading to putting up a tent on the school field and then cooking their evening meal on a Trangia stove before being collected by parents.

Well done to all participants who will not hopefully look forward to an Assessed expedition in the summer. For more information about DofE please contact our Award Manager, Dr Mark Woodward ( msw@stephenperse.com ).
