Students invent interactive pill box for Alzheimer's sufferers for national competition

Published on 21/03/17

Three students from the Stephen Perse Foundation have come up with an innovative new idea to help sufferers of Alzheimer's.

Hetty S, Liberty W and Qu G invented Light Pills, an interactive pill box designed with Alzheimer's sufferers in mind which would identify or highlight when pills had been taken.

They took their invention to the Talent 2030 engineering and design competition which aims to encourage female students to pursue careers in manufacturing, engineering and software development.

The competition asked entrants to solve a major challenge of the 21st century in a creative way.

Hetty, Liberty and Qu all worked extremely well together, allocating responsibility for software design, electronic design and hardware design.

They were selected to take part in the National Competition, which came to a close earlier this month.

Well done to all involved!
