Saffron Walden Fire Station trip for Years 1 and 2

Published on 08/11/17

Years 1 and 2 had a brilliant time exploring the Saffron Walden Fire Station.

On Tuesday 7th November, Dame Bradbury's pupils in Years 1 and 2 had an exciting morning at the local fire station in Saffron Walden.

The firemen were very kind and showed us the fire engines and all the fascinating fire safety equipment inside.

The highlights of the trip included being able to go inside the fire engine cab as well as squirting fast jets of water from the hose. We were also given a very interesting and informative talk about the role of firefighters and fire safety.

The trip wonderfully reinforced the work we have been doing in our 'Hot, Hot, Hot!' thematic learning topic.

The Saffron Walden Fire Station were wonderful hosts for the morning, and a great time was had by all!
