Dame Bradbury's U11 Girls Football Team success at the ESFA South East Region Tournament

Published on 15/03/22

On Friday 11 March Dame Bradbury’s U11 Girls Football Team travelled to Thamesmead in Kent to take part in the English Schools Football Association (ESFA) South East Region Tournament.

The Dame Bradbury’s U11 Girls Football Team had qualified for the ESFA South East Region Tournament following their victory at the ESFA Essex Tournament where they were crowned Essex County Champions.

Competing against 11 other county champions the standard was very high, and the girls performed superbly. They won all three of their group games 1-0 beating the county champions from Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire to win their group and qualify for the three-way final.

In the finals they drew 0-0 with the Surrey county champions and then suffered their first defeat of the whole season 3-0 to eventual winners Days Lane School from Kent. This result meant the Dame Bradbury’s U11 Girls Football Team finished in third place overall in the South East Region, narrowly missing out on qualifying for the nationals on goal difference.
