  • Grade anxiety leads to increased interest in Stephen Perse Sixth Form places this September

    Helen Roberts, Stephen Perse Admissions Registrar is reporting increased calls from parents of Year 11 students and by parents with children in other local and international schools who are clearly unsettled by the furore of recent weeks. She says that many parents are not confident in the ability in their new school of choice to be able to deliver the curriculum whatever the circumstances next year, or to ensure their child achieves the outcomes of the final years of school that best reflect their abilities.

    On Tuesday 3 December sixth form students Sunny, Norrie, Charlotte H and Charlotte L competed in the regional final of the Senior Team Maths Challenge (STMC). The STMC tests mathematical, communication and teamwork skills and students compete against teams from other schools and colleges from their region.

  • Outstanding A-Level results

    In a year when the proportion of students achieving top grades at A Level is at its lowest
    level for a decade, the Stephen Perse Foundation (SPF), a family of schools educating girls
    and boys from nursery to sixth form in Saffron Walden and Cambridge, announce
    outstanding results. Nearly two thirds of students have achieved three or more A* or A
    grades at A-Level this year compared with the national results of just over a quarter (25.5%)
    achieving an A grade or higher.
