While our Senior School years lay the foundation, the Sixth Form is distinctively different. Here, the traditional boundaries between staff and students shift toward a culture of mutual respect and partnership. We have cultivated an environment that is intentionally relaxed and collegiate, mirroring the independence of university life while maintaining the warm, individual guidance that we are known for.
Our cohort is carefully balanced: it is large enough to ensure a vibrant social energy where you will always find like-minded peers to engage in high-level super-curricular projects or diverse co-curricular experiences, yet our small group sizes ensure your voice is always heard. In our seminar-style lessons intellectual exchange flourishes, fueled by uniquely supportive relationships.
This academic energy is underpinned by our comprehensive university preparation programme led by specialists who ensure our students navigate the complexities of higher education applications with confidence.
Above all, this is a place where you are known. Whether our students have been with us since Nursery or join us in Year 12, they thrive in an atmosphere where they are understood and valued as individuals, energised by their subjects as well as activities beyond their A Levels, and brilliantly prepared to take their place in the world.

We have a Gatsby-benchmarked Careers & Guidance programme to prepare students for their next steps. Our highly experienced specialist advisors work 1:1 with students to produce the strongest possible applications to competitive universities, conservatoires, art schools and degree apprenticeships, with a consistently impressive success rate.
Whether it's Dan McGolpin (Service Lead for BBC iPlayer), comedian and author Ben Miller, Olympian Imogen Grant MBE, Tom Harrison (Keeper of the Department of Greece and Rome at the British Museum) or clinical psychologist Sir Simon Baron-Cohen, our students benefit from hearing from notable individuals across a variety of fields.
Our students are intellectually curious critical thinkers who benefit from being surrounded by peers who also value and enjoy learning. They support and challenge one another in their studies, not only helping each other to develop knowledge, confidence and resilience but also forming strong friendships that last well beyond school.
In addition to the bespoke university application guidance, students are prepared for the learning experience at undergraduate level by mirroring our class sizes to provide a similar experience to the tutorial and seminar sessions they will encounter at top universities. This smaller group setting allows each student to be an active participant in lessons.
Fancy organising and hosting the world’s largest student-led Model United Nations conference? Or performing a concerto with Symphony Orchestra at West Road Concert Hall? How about receiving coaching from former national sportspeople or having the program you've coded run on the International Space Station? Unique experiences abound.
We are the perfect size to ensure that there are always people around to socialise or work with, but also that all students are able to access our range of incredible opportunities, on-site recreation, study and dining spaces. Each student is known, understood and supported as an individual in a way that is simply not possible in a bigger setting.
Our comprehensive curriculum offers a wide range of both traditional and more specialised subjects.

Even though our students have the freedom to come and go into the city, they have everything they need on-site. For quiet study, there's our light and airy sixth-form-only library giving access to physical and digital resources.
In addition, we have multiple dining options in our café and dining hall, as well as plenty of recreational spaces with sofas, pool and table tennis tables. Students also benefit from the use of our sports facilities in our three-storey sports hall, MUGA, newly kitted-out gym and sports ground.

Our Sixth Form environment is the perfect bridge between Senior School and University. Students have the freedom to manage their own day around lessons and other commitments. We have two large common rooms, with recreation facilities such as football and pool tables; there’s always room to hang out with friends or just take a break from studying.
We have an on-site café where students can help themselves to coffee, grab a sushi box for lunch with friends, or get out their laptop to get some work done. In addition to being able to buy sandwiches and salads in our café, students can choose to get a hot lunch in the dedicated sixth-form dining room.
Our sixth-form-only Library is a beautiful, light, quiet space, conducive to getting your head down to work and providing access to the resources students might find useful when conducting research for their EPQ or that essay competition entry. At times when you want to work with friends, the café, quieter common room or IT suite might suit you better.
Our sixth formers take on meaningful positions as Heads of School, Committee Leads and Heads of Houses, representing and leading our wider student body. Being at the top of an all-through school provides everyone with plentiful opportunities to work with younger students, supporting the development of invaluable soft skills.
Our students organise one of the world's largest Model United Nations conferences, welcoming students from a wide range of international schools. They design and sell their own merchandise in our school store for the conference. Students are also involved in the design and promotion of our school's casual merchandise range, giving them valuable business enterprise experience.
Fancy a workout or a game of table tennis in your study break? No problem, our fitness suite has all the equipment you would find in a professional gym, and we have on-site areas where students can play football, netball, basketball or table tennis in their downtime.
Students can come and go as they please: if they so wish they have the freedom to head off into town and take a walk around our beautiful city, make the most of the University's programme of lectures, open events and workshops aimed at A Level students, or make use of our ‘Friends Membership’ to the University’s Botanic Gardens opposite Reception.

We have excellent academic results, with a proven record of sending students to Oxbridge (Oxford & Cambridge) and other Russell Group universities and Ivy League schools, as well as conservatoires, drama school and art college. Students are encouraged and supported to pursue their dreams and follow the path that's right for them. Whether it's a place at a top university, a training scheme or studying overseas - your future is your choice.
