  • You can make a life-changing difference to a young person by leaving a bequest to our Guild Opportunities fund in your will.

    Make a lasting impact

    If you would like a confidential discussion about helping to support the next generation in accessing all that a Stephen Perse Cambridge education has to offer, please get in touch with us.

    Our contact details and information on how to leave a legacy can be found below.

    How to leave a legacy

    Stephen Perse Cambridge (legally named The Stephen Perse Foundation) is a registered charity and funds bequeathed to it in your will are currently free of inheritance tax in the UK.

    A bequest to the Stephen Perse Foundation can be included in a will when it is first drawn up, or added as a codicil to an existing will. If you intend to leave a bequest to our school, please consult a financial advisor and/or solicitor for expert advice to ensure that your intentions are clearly recorded and to assist you in estate planning. There are potential tax benefits to legators resident in other countries too - again, please consult a solicitor if you are considering making a bequest to the Stephen Pese Foundation from outside the UK.

    Your solicitor will advise about the types of bequest that you may leave in your will. The type that best suits you will depend upon your personal circumstances and your intentions for its application. Some of the options they will discuss with you include:

    • A Pecuniary Bequest is a simple legacy of a specific sum of money or an asset (such as a painting or a house) left to a named beneficiary;
    • A Residuary Bequest leaves all or part of the residue of your estate to the Foundation after specific gifts have been distributed to the other beneficiaries of your will; and
    • A Reversionary Bequest leaves your assets to a named individual for their lifetime, after which the whole, or a specified proportion thereof, reverts to the Foundation.

    We are tremendously grateful for your interest in making a gift in your will to help more academically able and determined young people benefit from all that a Stephen Perse education has to offer.
